Anna Wight

Anna Wight, age 94, of Brigham City, Utah and formerly of Union died April 2, 2004. A reception for family and friends will be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday at the Gillies-Petersen Funeral Chapel in Brigham City. The funeral will begin at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in the Brigham City Cemetery.

Mrs. Wight was born February 9, 1910 to Peter P. and Kristine Mortensen Hendrickson in Brigham City. She graduated from Box Elder High School and Seminary and on February 20, 1932 married Lowen H. Wight. The marriage was sealed in the Logan Temple in 1933.

The couple settled in Union and their first two children were born at Hot Lake. The family farmed in Washington for 20 years and lived in California before returning to Union in about 1971. In 1988 they moved to Brigham City.

She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The couple fulfilled a mission in New Zealand and she held many leadership and teaching positions in the Primary and Relief Society. She enjoyed genealogy, sewing, quilting, crocheting and gardening.

Survivors include children and their spouses, Mark and Carol Wight of Provo, Utah, Richard and Judy Wight of Sandy Utah, Dwayne and Debbie Wight of Corinne, Utah; 13 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; and a sister, Ruth Hadley of Ogden, Utah.
