Anna Cason Allen

Anna Josephine Cason Allen, formerly of Elgin, passed away December 14, 2002 at a local care facility.

A service will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday, December 21st at the Elgin Cemetery with Pastor John McElravy of the Elgin Christian Church officiating. Arrangements are entrusted to Daniels Chapel of the Valley, 1502 7th Street, La Grande, Oregon 97850.

She was born in St. Joseph, Missouri on May 2, 1910 and her parents, Lloyd and Josephine Cason moved to the Elgin area while she was still a child. She graduated from Elgin High School and later married Lenn D. Allen in Boise, Idaho on July 18, 1962.

Upon her husband's honorable discharge from active military duty, the couple settled in Elgin where first Lenn and then Anna served as Postmaster of the Elgin Post Office. Anna retired from her Postmaster position in 1972.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her sister Loretta, and her brother Paul.

She is survived by her nephews, Wayne Boswell, Richard Cason, Dallas Cason, and Darrell Cason.
