Ann Leona Dalton

September 10, 1910 — May 16, 2006

Ann Leona Dalton, age 95 of La Grande and formerly of Elgin and Aberdeen, Washington died, Tuesday, May 16, 2006 at her home. At her request, no public services will be held. Arrangements are entrusted to Daniels Chapel of the Valley.

Ann Leona Dalton was born on September 10, 1910, the daughter of William Lee and Flora (Scheek) Hobbs in North Powder, Oregon. Ann graduated with the North Powder High School class of 1928. After high school, Ann went to work on a ranch as a cook and during this time she met and later married Wylie Dalton. Together the couple moved to Portland where they both worked in the shipyards for a time. Wylie would later work construction and the couple traveled the country before settling in Aberdeen, Washington where Ann continued to live for close to 50 years. In 2004, Ann moved to Elgin to be closer to family before moving to La Grande in 2005. She loved to cook and enjoyed, crafts, sewing her own clothing and spending time with her family and friends.

Survivors include numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. Her husband Wylie Dalton, brothers, Aubrey, Archie, Ottis and Lloyd Hobbs and sisters, Ella Scott and Fern Fisher all preceded her in death.
