Angela Jane Keeler, age 84, a lifetime resident of La Grande, died March 4th. A Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held on Tuesday at 6:00 p.m. at Daniels~Knopp Funeral, Cremation & Life Celebration Center., 1502 7th Street. A funeral Mass will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church. Committal and interment will follow at the Hillcrest East Cemetery. A reception will follow at the church.
Mrs. Keeler was born on September 3, 1925, the daughter of Edward James and Florence Mary (McLachlen) Donahue in La Grande. On January 26, 1948 she married Elvin Wain "Tuffy" Keeler. In her younger years she enjoyed horseback riding. She loved fishing and animals and enjoyed gardening. She was a seamstress and made many clothes for her children through the years. The family enjoyed fishing and camping at Beaver Creek.
Mrs. Keeler worked in the kitchen at Dorian Hall at EOU for many years. She was a member of Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church and the Oregon Employees Association. She was a wonderful wife, mother and friend..
Survivors include her children, Larry Keeler and Steven Keeler, both of La Grande, David Keeler of Seattle and Sandra Hill of Summerville; six grandchildren; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband on December 11, 1992 and four siblings.
Those who wish may make contributions in her memory to the Marian School at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church.
