Alyce Louise Bostic

February 17, 1906 — April 23, 2005

Alyce Louise Bostic, age 99, of La Grande died April 23 at a local care center. A celebration of life will begin at 2pm Saturday at Loveland Funeral Chapel. Mrs. Bostic was born February 17, 1906, to Andrew and Ellen Arthun Madison near Red Lodge, Montana. She attended the Pioneer School in Wyoming, graduated from high school in Belfry, Montana, attended the University of Wyoming.

On May 29, 1931 she married Lloyd Bostic in Billings, Montana. They settled in Rollins, Montana and in 1956 moved to a small farm Lloyd and Alyce bought near Stanfield. They retired in 1972 and moved first to Kalispell, Montana and then to La Grande in 1983. After her husband's death in 1988, she lived with her daughter for 10 years before moving to a care center. She was a homemaker with a special love for children and animals. She enjoyed cooking, music, dancing, and in her younger years, riding horses and working with farm animals.

Survivors include children and their spouses, Harold and Charlotte Bostic of Kalispell and Phyllis and Fred Arnst of La Grande; six grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren and other relatives. Two brothers and a sister died earlier. Memorials may be made to the Blue Mtn. Humane Association, 3212 Hwy. 30, La Grande
