Alex Colby Arritola, age 20, of La Grande, died Monday, October 11, 2004 in an automobile accident. A celebration of life will begin at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Pioneer Park with a luncheon to follow at the La Grande Country Club in Island City. Participants are invited to bring photos and memories to share. Viewing will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. today at Loveland Funeral Chapel.
Mr. Arritola was born on August 20, 1984, to Ron and Mona Arritola in La Grande. He was a five-year all-star with Babe Ruth League and played baseball in high school. He graduated from La Grande High School in 2002 and attended Southern Oregon University. He worked at Artesian Blue in Cove, and enjoyed being with his friends and family, music, baseball, motorcycles, camping, hunting, fishing, the outdoors, skateboarding, snow boarding, hauling snow in a pick-up to build booters and kickers and waiting for more snow.
He was described by his family as the nicest guy that ever lived. He is leaving a large hole in the hearts in those who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his parents and a sister, Kayla Arritola, all of La Grande; grandparents, John and Florence Arritola of Forest Grove, Diana Sanger of Olympia, Washington and Art Sanger of Ritzville, Washington; great grandparents, Gordon and June Hagan of Spokane, Washington and other relatives.
Memorials may be made in lieu of flowers or gifts to the La Grande Booster Club, PO Box 2991, La Grande, Oregon 97850.
