Alan Scott Johnson was born March 3, 1957, in Longview, Washington. He died September 2, 2003 at his home in Bellevue, Idaho, at the age of 46.
Alan was raised in Union, Oregon and graduated from Union High School in 1975. He enjoyed athletics and played football, basketball and baseball in high school. He was also very active in 4-H and Future Farmers of America. Alan attended Blue Mountain Community College in Pendleton, where he played two years of baseball and graduated in 1977 with an Associate's Degree in Business/Agriculture.
After graduation, Alan moved to Sun Valley, Idaho and began working in the construction field. On April 23, 1983 he married the love of his life, Diana Dishman in Boise, Idaho. Diana and Alan have lived in the Sun Valley area ever since. Alan's love for his children and the outdoors meant that he would be found either at their games and activities, or out with his dog, Sage, hunting ducks and geese. Alan was an avid trap shooter and was considered to one of the premier trap shooters of Southern Idaho. He has won numerous awards for his accomplishments in trapshooting and was a member of the Shoshone Indian Trap Club, Blaine County Gun Club and the Wood River Gun Club.

Diane Marie (Dishman) Johnson was born in Boise, Idaho on November 30, 1950, the second daughter of Dean and Pat Dishman, and was tragically taken from us on September 2, 2003. She was 52 years old.
Diane lived in Boise with her family where she attended "angel class" and first grade at St. Theresa's Academy and then transferred to St. Joseph's School. In 1961 her family moved to Caldwell where her dad established Dean's Goodyear. She attended Caldwell public schools until her graduation in 1969. She participated in Girl Scouts and was a member of the Caldwell High School drill team. As a sophomore, she was nominated for homecoming flame queen. Diana belonged to the parish of St. Mary's Catholic Church where she attended CCD classes and was chosen to be May Queen her senior year. She attended the University of Idaho where she was a member of Alpha Chi Omega sorority. She was also a member of the honorary group, Angel Flight.
She went to work for Blue Cross of Idaho and lived in Boise. On April 23, 1983, Diana married her soul mate, Alan Johnson, and they have resided in the Sun Valley area since that time. She was employed for many years at the Hailey Medical Clinic, and recently went to work for Blaine County Collectors, where she was employed at the time of her death. It is not possible to condense Diana's personality into words. She was a loving, giving person, who never knew a stranger. Her family, especially her children, meant everything to her. Diana had a passion for gardening, innovative cooking and garage sales. She was at her best, the happiest, whenever she was in the kitchen and she added laughter, warmth and gourmet foods to every family gathering.
Diana and Alan were both members of the Blaine County Gun Club, as well as the Shoshone Indian Trapshooting Club. They loved to travel to shooting events and won many prizes and awards. They were both very special and outgoing, and have made many lasting friendships over the years.
Diana is survived by her son, Matthew Johnson of Moscow, Idaho and daughter, Sarah, of Bellevue, Idaho; her parents, Dean and Pat Dishman of Caldwell, Idaho; two sisters, Linda (and Jim) Vavold of Caldwell, Idaho and Debbie (and Zack) Davis of Kuna, Idaho; her nieces and nephews, Collin (and Missy) Sower, Rob (and Gina) Sower, Carey (and Jimmy) Benson and Kory, Logan, Brady and Connor Davis.
Her family would like to express their deep and sincere gratitude to all the members of the community who have showered us with their love and support, especially Randy and Lorna Kolash for opening up their home to all the family. Diana will be forever in our hearts, wherever we are.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Alan and Diana Johnson Memorial Scholarship Fund at the First Bank of Idaho, Ketchum, Hailey or Bellevue branches.
