Adrienne Leona Alexander, 82, of Prineville and formerly of La Grande, died February 20, 2007. Visitation will be available from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Whispering Pines Funeral Home, 185 NE Fourth Street, Prineville. Funeral services are planned for 10 a.m. Monday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, SE Second Street and Idlewood, Prineville, with Bishop John A. Morgan officiating.
Mrs. Alexander was born October 19, 1924, to Adren and Leona (Morris) See in La Grande. She graduated from La Grande High School and was employed by Union Pacific Railroad as a telegrapher for one year. On November 7, 1943 she married Frank Alexander in La Grande.
She worked for Montgomery Wards, Erickson's Supermarket, Erickson's Department Store, Pioneer Memorial Hospital, Crook County School District, Ochoco Federal Credit Union, Ronjos Radio Shack and Dave Westbrook Insurance. She retired in 1986.
Her hobbies were playing and teaching piano, crocheting, embroidering and spending time with her family and grandchildren. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and the Woman's Auxiliary VFW. Mrs. Alexander had a dance band, played for the Crook County Boys Choir and provided music for the LDS Church for 50 years.
Survivor include her children and their spouses, JoAnne and Ron Thompson of Prineville and Robert and Nancy Alexander of Albany; 11 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren; and siblings, Wendell See of Richland, Washington, Margaret Skaggs of Delta, Utah, Nancy Stradling of Mesa, Arizona and Gloria Steen of McMinnville. She was preceded in death by her husband; a daughter, Carol; and one sister and one brother.
Memorials may be made to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Missionary Fund in care of Second Ward, Second and Idlewood, Prineville, 97754.
