Addison Belle Weimer, 2, of La Grande, died Jan. 28. Her parents, Ryan and Lana Weimer, submitted this memorial:
"How does a father attempt to capture in words who his daughter is and what she means to us? There are no words in any language that could describe those feelings, no poems, no verses, no words. Here's to trying.
"He giveth and he taketh; a child lent and returned to humanity's eternal home. Addison Belle Weimer, born on Feb. 4, 2008, in La Grande, died on Jan. 28 at the Salem Hospital from respiratory complications.
"She is survived by her mother, Lana Weimer; father, Ryan Weimer; brother, Keaton Weimer; grandparents, Autumn and Mike Saunders of Whidbey Island, Wash., and Bruce and Deanna Weimer of La Grande. She is also survived by nine uncles, six aunts and seven first cousins who love her very much. She was preceded in death by her baby brother, Eston James Weimer.
"Children are lent to us by our father in heaven to bless his children's lives. Addi, who had already proven herself, came to earth to get a body, so that she could be perfected and return home to be with her family for eternity. Addison, like all of us, knew before birth in what circumstances we would all come to Earth and she boldly accepted hers. With no complaints, with love precious and sweet, charity abundant and profound and trust eternal she lived, died and fulfilled this life's purpose and returned to our eternal home.
"I saw her in my mind, the day she died, wrapped in the arms of our father in heaven held tightly grasped in love and joy - a child home again!"
